Returning the Target Application to the Base State
The 'start' and 'finish' phases are essential components of an
automated testing project. The 'start' phase defines what occurs
before a test is run. The finish phase defines what occurs after.

through the App State wizards. The finish phase is left to the user.

The AscentialTest path statement is the foundation of our object
recognition.
Although the path statement is generated automatically during the App
Object definition process for most objects, there are times when the
user must modify or manually write the path statement.
The purpose of this paper is to explain how the path statement works
and to describe the different options that are available for
recognizing objects.
The AscentialTest selector is a powerful feature that provides a way
to select one or more rows in a table. Once the row has been selected,
it's easy to get, set or verify values for any column/cell in the row.
Although the selector has many other applications in AscentialTest,
this paper concentrates on how to create and use selectors with table
rows.

The purpose of this guide is to provide a framework to help you learn
the basic features of AscentialTest. It is intended to serve as a
supplement to the self-guided video tutorial.
The purpose of this document is to help you create an Application
Profile for your target application.
If you are testing a browser or terminal based application, there is
no need to create an application profile because AscentialTest already
provides pre-defined profiles for these application types. For all
other application types, it is necessary to create an application
profile at the time that you create your testing project.
